ariana sexton-hughes

woman's electric blue eye with tears of blood

ariana sexton-hughes is a new york-based writer, poet, and editor, whose work focuses on recovery from anorexia, bipolar disorder, trauma, chronic pain, and ballet.

inspired by the life and works of Johns Hopkins psychiatrist Kay Redfield Jamison, ariana began writing in high school as a form of therapy.

ariana’s micropoem, “e-du-cation,” was one of 12 blackout poems featured in the New York Times.

ariana is currently fighting sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, oppression, and hate, as an editor for femination.org.

ariana’s first book of poetry, “i write to heal,” will be published in 2024 (we hope).
